Robert and Leslie met on a dating app in October 2019. They bonded over their shared love of music, especially opera, photography, theater, books, nature, and travel. Their early dates took them to Great Falls National Park and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Since then, they have enjoyed exploring many places in Virginia, particularly ones in or near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Leslie introduced Robert to the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, and Robert introduced Leslie to his favorite cidery in Keswick. Robert and Leslie live in Chantilly with their cat, Freya, and their dog, Odin.
